So who's going to install it first?

Gabe, good advice. I learned long ago to not live on the "bleeding edge" of technology. It's okay for Geek hobbists and it makes for interesting articles in PC magazines, but not wise for real world productivity.

My brand new Dell Precision 470 workstation with dual Xeon processors should scream with 64-bit WinXP Pro, however, it's running great with WinXP SP2 and PS CS2. I'm waiting until at least SP1 before I consider any upgrade.

The most recent info I've heard about Win64 involved reports of data corruption occurring repeatedly on SATA drives in both single-drive and RAID configurations on a machine that was running the last RC. It would run beautifully for a couple of days and then just begin to mangle data. Good times!

This was on an nVidia-based mother board and quite likely due to a bug in their driver implementation, but I'm definitely going to stay away until all my devices have had at least a few driver revisions released to be safe..
