In order to get a full appreciation of the Mt Assiniboine area, one should take the short 1 mile hike up to Nublet Pass. From their one can see Sunburst Lake, Sunburst Peak, Magog Lake and the entire northern flank of Mt Assiniboine

Mid to late summer is the best time of year to photograph Mt Assiniboine. If I had to pick, I would say the last week in July and the first week in August would be the best time to photograph the Assiniboine area.

The above photo was taken with a focal length of 35 mm on a 35mm full frame camera.

Photography is best at this this spot sunrise to early morning.

LENS: 28-70 mm on a full frame camera, 17-55mm on a crop sensor camera
