Why?

Why are we having this extraordinary contest? One reason. To help convince you to subscribe to The Luminous Landscape Video Journal, a quarterly DVD containing interviews with famous photographers, how-to's, tutorials, critiques, product reviews, and travels segments, all in broadcast quality video. It's this web site on TV, but with unique content not found anywhere else.

It's subscriptions to The Video Journal that keep this site in existence. It is our only source of revenue since we accept no advertising or commercial sponsorship of any kind.

"The inspiration I get from these DVD's is enough to make me want to quit my day job and do art for the rest of my life"!

When and Where

This private workshop will take place on October 6 – 9, 2006. Arrive in Toronto on Friday October 6th and Michael will drive you to world-famous Algonquin Park to spend the weekend photographing fall colour, reviewing your portfolio, discussing shooting technique, Photoshop technique – anything and everything that you wish on a one-on-one basis. Fall colour should be at its height on this weekend.

We will be staying right on the edge of the park at the Algonquin Lakeside Inn, where you will have a private room. We will be staying at the inn on Friday and Saturday evening.

On Sunday morning we will drive about 90 minutes to my country house on Lake Muskoka, where you will stay as my guest on Sunday evening. We will shoot on Sunday at some of my favourite Muskoka locations.

On Monday morning you will be driven back to the Toronto airport (about 90 minutes) to catch your plane home.

"Your video journals keep getting better and better. The quality of production just shines through".
