It's easy — become a subscriber to The Luminous Landscape Video Journal. By simply becoming a subscriber and purchasing our special $185 promotional package, which includes 4 issues in the coming year, as well as the 5 most recent issues, you are automatically entered into the Great Luminous Landscape DSLR / Workshop Draw.
On December 25th we will be announcing the winner. He or she will receive a digital SLR and a private 4-day workshop with Michael Reichmann anywhere in North America, (see below for restrictions and details). The total value of this prize is U.S. $5,000.
"Yet another stunning Video Journal. I eagerly look forward to them every three months and am continually impressed with their quality and usefulness".
Why this promotion? It's simple. We want you to become a subscriber to The Video Journal. We want you to join the thousands of current subscribers around the world, and we want you to subscribe now! You know you've wanted to for a while. Well, here's the extra motivation, and now's the time.
The Video Journal is the world's only broadcast quality DVD video magazine about photography. Published four times a year, each issue contains up to 2 hours of exciting content, with travel segments, tutorials, hands-on equipment reviews and interviews with famous photographers. It's The Luminous Landscape on TV. And, just as with this site, there are no ads, no sponsors and no commercial relationships.
These DVDs can be played on any set-top DVD player, anywhere in the world, and also on any PC or Mac with a DVD player built in. We already have subscribers in more than 40 countries around the world.
"The inspiration I get from these DVDs is enough to make me want to quit my day job and do art for the rest of my life"!
— The contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world (except where prohibited by law).
— The prize consists of two parts...
— A digital SLR of the user's choice; either a Canon 10D, Nikon D100 or Fuji S2 Pro, and a lens of the winner's choice — to a total maximum value of U.S. $2,500.
— A 4-day field workshop with Michael Reichmann. This will be a completely private workshop with no other participants, and the winner can choose the location from the following list...
Fall Colour in the Sierra Mountains of Northern California
Fall Colour along The Blue Ridge Parkway and in Great Smokey National Park
Wildlife and Landscape in Yellowstone National Park
Wildlife and Landscape in Bosque del Apache, and White Sands, New Mexico
Landscape in Zion National Park and south-central Utah
Landscape in Death Valley, California
Included are all expenses, plus air fare from anywhere in the U.S. or Canada to the selected location, as well as transportation, food and lodging. The value of this is U.S. $2,500.
"Your video journals keep getting better and better. The quality of production just shines through".
How it Works
Everyone that purchases a 4-issue annual subscription to The Luminous Landscape Video Journal as part of the $185 promotion, which includes the most recent 6 issues, is automatically entered. At the beginning of each month a semi-finalist from the preceding month will be announced. There will therefore be six semi-finalists. We will also choose one more semi-finalist from all of the eligible subscribers from the preceding six months, so everyone has two chances to win.
"Thanks for all the DVDs they are GREAT, you have a subscriber for life".

The Fine Print
Selection of finalists and semi-finalists will be done on a random basis, and will be supervised by a public notary. Residents of the U.S.A. and Canada must accept the prizes as awarded.
If the winner resides outside of the U.S.A. or Canada he or she may elect to receive a cash prize of $2,500, alternative to the camera and lens.
If the winner resides outside of the U.S. or Canada he or she may elect to receive a cash prize of $2,500, alternative to attending this private workshop.
Scheduling of the workshop will be on the basis of mutually convenient dates, and shall occur during 2004.
Air fare to the U.S. from any country other than Canada is not included and will be the winner's responsibility.
Semifinalists and the winner agree to allow their names to be published on the Luminous Landscape web site in association with the Draw promotion.
Everyone who purchased a $185 subscription since June 1, 2003 — even prior to the announcement of this promotion, has been automatically entered to win.
You do not need to purchase a subscription to win. You are also made eligible by sending an email with your name and verifiable email address. Put DSLR / Workshop Draw both in the title and the body of your e-mail and be sure to include your name and contact information. Only one entry per person is allowed. Anyone can enter this way, including current and previous subscribers. Please indicate in your email whether or not you are currently a subscriber.
(Of course if you do purchase a subscription under this promotion you'll also be supporting this site, its continued growth and value to yourself as well as the entire photographic community. Not to mention also receiving one of the most exciting new photographic resources available. The choice is yours. Thanks.)
This contest is not sponsored by any product manufacturer and is a sole promotion by The Luminous Landscape Inc.
