Moose and the Intimate Landscape
An Algonquin Park Workshop
With Jack Dykinga and Michael Reichmann
May 2 – May 5, 2008
Sorry Sold Out
For the past several years, each spring Michael Reichmann has traveled to Algonquin Provincial Park in North-Central Ontario, Canada, to photograph moose. In April and May the Moose come out of the deep woods to lick the salt used to keep the highway open during the winter. This means that on some days, there are as many as a dozen or more moose easily photographable from the highway. Some are at a distance, requiring the use of long lenses, while others can be so close that they walk across the road right in front of your car.
Michael has gotten to know the best locations and times for viewing moose at Algonquin in the early spring, and this year together with world-famous photographer and teacher Jack Dykinga he has planned a small exclusive expedition to photograph them as well as the Spring landscape in the park.
This workshop is open to nine photographers. Photographers of all skill levels are welcome.
Our days willl feature early morning and late afternoon drives along the main highway through the park in search of moose and landscape opportunities. And from late morning through mid-afternoon Jack and Michael will be conducting print and image critiques as well as classroom style sessions on composition, field technique, and digital workflow.
Our base of operations will be the Algonquin Lakeside Inn, a comfortable lodge just outside the park.
This will be an intensive workshop designed for the passionate photographer.
